UEFA fines Barcelona for fans’ racist behaviour after Champions League exit

UEFA reported on Thursday it had fined Barcelona 25,000 euros ($26,680) for bigoted conduct by their fans after two allies were addressed by police following their Heroes Association quarter-last first leg with Paris Holy person Germain.

Barcelona were likewise prohibited from offering passes to their allies for their next away European game, albeit that discipline is suspended for a year.

Barca lost the tie 6-4 on total after PSG won Tuesday’s second leg 4-1.

On April 10, Paris police said they had addressed two individuals after recordings were distributed via virtual entertainment of an ally making monkey commotions and one more making Nazi salutes at the Parc des Sovereigns.

“The UEFA Requests Body has chosen to fine FC Barcelona 25,000 euros and to restrict the FC Barcelona from offering passes to its away allies for its next UEFA contest match, for the bigoted way of behaving of its allies,” UEFA said.

“Expressed restriction from offering passes to its away allies is suspended for a trial time of one year, beginning from the date of the current choice.”
