NFF Pulls Super Eagles From AFCON Qualifier After Libyan Airport Nightmare
The Nigeria Football Alliance has chosen to haul the Super Falcons out of Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Countries qualifier against Libya.
This follows a disappointing 12-hour trial at Al Abraq Global Air terminal in Libya, where the group has been abandoned since their appearance on Sunday evening.
The PUNCH reports that the Nigerian designation was in transit to Benghazi for the essential qualifier when their sanctioned airplane was hazardously redirected mid-trip to Al Abraq, a little air terminal normally saved for hajj tasks.
The surprising redirection left players and authorities abandoned with next to no help from the Libyan Football League, which neglected to give transportation.
