Benue links abduction: Family cries out as kidnappers demand N350 million ransom

The family of one of the victims kidnapped all through the recent bandit assault on a Benue hyperlinks bus in Okpokwu local government location has appealed to the government to intervene, as kidnappers are now demanding N350 million for the release of the hostages.

The incident befell ultimate week when armed men suspected to be bandits hijacked the state-owned industrial bus traveling via Okpokwu, forcing the passengers into the bush at gunpoint.

Mr. Terna Agbecha, whose cousin, Hembadoon Akume, was once a few of the abducted passengers, said that the abductors have established touch with the circle of relatives and issued the hefty ransom demand.

“My cousin Hembadoon Akume is amongst the ones taken. we are asking the government to interfere. They known as and requested for N350 million. Our elder sister has paid N500,000, however they refused to set her loose,” Agbecha lamented.
