Tinubu approves ₦46bn for Kano Airport second runway — Keyamo

The Federal government has accredited ₦46 billion for the resurfacing and reconstruction of the second one runway at the Mallam Aminu Kano global Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace development, Festus Keyamo, disclosed this throughout the commissioning of the remodelled Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo home Terminal on the airport on Wednesday, July 29.

Keyamo said the approval was granted via President Bola Tinubu underneath the Renewed wish schedule to bolster airport infrastructure and decorate the aviation quarter.

“The President has accredited the sum of ₦46 billion for the resurfacing and reconstruction of the second runway in order that the Kano Airport can compete with different global airports round the arena,” the minister said.

He described Kano as the economic hub of Northern Nigeria, noting that the country occupies a strategic role in the usa’s financial system and aviation enterprise.

The minister also introduced that work has started out on the upgrade of the airport’s Hajj Terminal, with contractors already on website.

He explained that the remodelling of the Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo domestic Terminal bureaucracy part of the Federal authorities’s broader aviation modernisation programme geared toward enhancing passenger comfort, operational performance, safety and service shipping throughout airports nationwide.

Keyamo delivered that the remodelled terminal was named after Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo in popularity of his contributions to the development of Nigeria’s aviation enterprise.
