Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri after Buhari
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday, July 17, announced that the college of Maiduguri might be renamed in honour of the late chief, Muhammadu Buhari.

The institution will now be called Muhammadu Buhari university, Maiduguri.
Mr Tinubu announced the renaming of the university at a special Federal executive Council (FEC) assembly held in honour of the late former president.
Presiding over the session, President Tinubu brought a stirring tribute, celebrating Buhari’s existence as one defined with the aid of subject, ethical fortitude, and unwavering patriotism.
“earlier than we take the prayers — in honour of his [Buhari’s] memory, with this special consultation of the Federal government Council (expanded) — can we undertake the naming of the university of Maiduguri with a brand new name — Muhammadu Buhari university, Maiduguri,” the President said on the give up of the FEC meeting amid applause from attendees.
