Atiku Abubakar reacts to son’s defection from PDP to APC
Atiku Abubakar, the former vp and 2023 presidential candidate, has reacted to his son’s defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Abba Abubakar, the son of Atiku Abubakar, defected from the PDP to the ruling APC on Thursday, Jan. 15. He additionally pledged to work for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Reacting in a statement, Atiku said Abba’s defection is a personal preference.
He stated: “The choice of my son, Abba Abubakar, to join the APC is completely non-public.
“In a democracy, such choices are neither uncommon nor alarming, even if family and politics intersect. As a democrat, I do no longer coerce my personal toddlers in matters of moral sense, and i genuinely will not coerce Nigerians.
“What honestly worries me is the negative governance of the APC and the severe economic and social hardships it has imposed on our humans.
“I stay resolute in running with like-minded patriots to restore accurate governance and provide Nigerians a credible opportunity that brings remedy, wish, and development.”
