Ademola Lookman speaks on altercation with Osimhen (Video)
Superb Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman, has performed down the rift between him and striker Victor Osimhen following Nigeria’s emphatic four-0 win over Mozambique of their 2025 Africa Cup of countries (AFCON) spherical of 16 stumble upon on Monday.
In pursuit of a hat-trick, the Galatasaray striker used to be stuck on digicam angrily confronting teammate Ademola Lookman for the duration of their emphatic four–zero victory over Mozambique on the Africa Cup of nations on Monday night.
Lookman had made one assist to help Osimhen score his brace before the outburst broke out.
Still visibly furious, the Galatasaray forward gestured to the bench for a substitution and was duly taken off, with Moses Simon coming on in his place.
Following the final whistle, he headed straight down the tunnel, opting out of the usual post-match handshakes and team prayer with his teammates.
He was also the first Nigerian player to head for the team bus.
Speaking after the match when asked about the incident, Lookman, who won the player of the match award said, “I’ve not seen him. Nothing happened, it was just a discussion on the pitch. I don’t know what the big issue is.”
On Osimhen asking to be substituted, Lookman simply responded: “I didn’t see that.”
Lookman also lauded the team’s dominant display in the tournament: “It’s been great, the team is improving every single game. We scored four goals so that’s positive for us.”
