AFCON 2025 winner to earn $10m as CAF hikes Prize money
The winner of the 2025 Africa Cup of nations in Morocco will get hold of a file $10 million in prize money, following an increase approved by using the Confederation of African soccer.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe introduced the brand new prize structure after a meeting of the CAF executive Committee in Rabat, Morocco, at the eve of the event.
The 2025 AFCON will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
in step with CAF, the winner’s prize represents a forty three in step with cent increase from the preceding version, where hosts Côte d’Ivoire earned $7 million after lifting the trophy.
The prize money has now doubled over a four-12 months period. Winners of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon acquired $5 million, before the parent rose to $7 million at the 2023 tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, and now to $10 million for Morocco 2025 — a a hundred per cent increase.
CAF also confirmed that the runners-up at AFCON 2025 will acquire $4 million, at the same time as the 2 dropping semi-finalists will every earn $two.five million.
The continental soccer frame said the increase is part of its ongoing efforts to boost the value, competitiveness and worldwide appeal of Africa’s premier soccer event.
