Father Kelvin Ugwu called out over his response to Uti Nwachukwu’s question about God’s gender
Father Kelvin Ugwu, a Catholic Priest who gives his opinion on trending topics via Facebook, has received heat for his response to a religious question asked by actor Uti Nwachukwu.
Uti had released a video, asking about God’s gender and pronouns. He questioned why people refer to God as “male” and “He”.
Uti stated that if we are all made in God’s image and God is considered male, he wondered whose image the females were made in.
Many responded to Uti’s questions in different ways. While some called him out for raising the question, others shared their reasoning on the topic.
Father Kelvin Ugwu took to Facebook to respond but many of his followers saw his answer as far from Christ-like and they said as much in the comment section.
The priest shared a video of Uti asking the question and he went on to quote Abraham Lincoln, writing: “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”
In the comment section of his post, Kelvin Igwu further addressed Uti’s question and made reference to the actor’s supposed sexuality.
“Sometimes we overrate these people we see on our screens because we call them celebrities,” Father Kelvin began his post.
He added in his post: “There has been a rumour about his sexuality, but that is entirely not the issue here.”
He then went on to explain that the entire humanity, not just men, was made in God’s image and likeness and this image relates to our soul, rather than our sexual organs.
Facebook users hit back at the priest, calling him out for making reference to Uti’s sexuality while answering his question.
