The previous Super Eagles midfielder had at first marked a one-year expansion with the Potters prior to ending his agreement to join Kuwait SC.

Obi had joined Stoke after Trabzonspor additionally ended his agreement in the wake of declining to play due to the Covid pandemic.

It is not yet clear what lies next for him, yet a re-visitation of England, where his family dwells, is plausible.
