
Ghana agrees to accept Nigerians, other West Africans deported from US
Ghana has started out accepting West African nationals deported from the united states, President John Dramani Mahama said on Wednesday, September 10.

in keeping with Reuters, Mahama disclosed that a first batch of 14 deportees, made up of Nigerians, a Gambian and others, had already arrived in Accra, with the Ghanaian authorities facilitating their return to their respective nations.
“We were approached by the us to simply accept 0.33-birthday celebration nationals who were being eliminated from the us, and we agreed with them that West African nationals were suited because all our fellow West Africans don’t want a visa to come back to our united states,” he said.
He justified the choice by way of pronouncing West Africans “don’t want a visa anyway” to return to Ghana.
The arrangement comes after Washington’s intensified deportation drive underneath President Donald Trump, who has driven for removals to “1/3 nations” as a part of his hardline immigration coverage.
