Man planning to propose on New Year’s Eve dies in Christmas Day house fire while searching for the ring

An American man who was wanting to propose to his sweetheart on New Year’s Eve passed on during a Christmas Day house fire subsequent to looking for the wedding band.

As per FOX member KTVU, Oakland fire groups were made aware of the blast in the 3500 block of Oak Meadow Lane around 6:15 a.m. neighborhood time on Wednesday, December 25.

Firemen who were looking through the home at last tracked down the man oblivious inside.

The casualty has been recognized by family members as 37-year-old Steven Weatherford Jr., as indicated by KTVU and FOX offshoot KGO.

Weatherford was supposedly searching for a wedding band when he was obviously overwhelmed by the smoke and fire. Family said he was anticipating utilizing the ring to propose to his better half on New Year’s Eve.

LaShante Mayo, Weatherford’s better half, said her late sweetheart “was genuinely the best individual you might at any point meet,” as indicated by KTVU.

“He adored his family, his companions, everyone so much,” added Mayo, who was uninformed that he was intending to propose until the day of the deadly blast.

Weatherford lived in Antioch and was seeing family in Oakland when the fire broke out, as per KTVU.

The home engaged with the fire has a place with his dad Steven Weatherford Sr., as per a GoFundMe crusade began by the man’s neighbors.

“He was attempting to save everyone and ensure everyone was out of the house. He might not have realized they all went out the back,” said Weatherford’s auntie, Eunice Smith, as indicated by KGO.

“Furthermore, my other nephew was calling for him since they were all toward the back,” Smith proceeded, “and they were calling, ‘Steven! Steven! Emerge! Emerge!’ and they heard him shouting. Furthermore, he never made it out.”

Michael Chase of the Oakland Local group of fire-fighters (OFD) said the fire seems to have been incidental, as indicated by KTVU.
