NNPC Denies Community Leader Claim, Says Port Harcourt Refinery 90% Operational
The Nigerian Public Oil Organization (NNPC) Restricted has discredited claims by a local area pioneer in Alesa, Waterways State, charging that the Port Harcourt treatment facility isn’t yet delivering fuel.
In an explanation delivered on Friday, NNPC representative Olufemi Soneye condemned the remarks made by the local area pioneer, portraying them as a showcase of obliviousness about treatment facility tasks. Soneye made sense of that while he would have regularly overlooked such comments, he felt a sense of urgency to answer to explain what is happening.
Timothy Mgbere, purportedly a forerunner in the Alesa people group, showed up on public TV on Thursday, where he denounced the Nigerian Public Petrol Organization Restricted (NNPCL) of deceiving Nigerians by guaranteeing that the Port Harcourt treatment facility is as of now handling raw petroleum.
As indicated by Soneye, the Port Harcourt treatment facility is presently working at 90% limit. He accentuated that the claims needed merit and were conflicting with current realities, especially as the processing plant has been effectively creating and conveying fuel. Soneye called attention to inconsistencies locally pioneer’s cases.
What NNPC is Talking about
The NNPC representative noticed that the pioneer had recognized fuel being stacked out from the processing plant’s gantry yet excused it as “old stock” from the past treatment facility, which, Soneye contended, further sabotaged the believability of the charges.
“He (Mgbere) guaranteed that the old Port Harcourt Treatment facility was just working skeletally and was not handling PMS. His verification was that the PMS truck-out was finished at the gantry of the new Port Harcourt Processing plant as against the gantry of the old Port Harcourt Treatment facility.
“This sells out his insufficient information on the activities of the processing plant. The old and new Port Harcourt Treatment facilities have since been coordinated with one single terminal for item load-out.
“They share normal utilities like power and capacity tanks. This implies that capacity tanks and stacking gantry which he asserted have a place with the new Port-Harcourt Treatment facility can likewise get items from the Old Port Harcourt Treatment facility
“The nameplate limit of the treatment facility is 60,000 barrels of oil each day. It is as of now delivering at 90% throughput which means Straight-Run gas (Naphtha) mixed into 1.4 million liters of PMS, beside different items like diesel and lamp fuel.
“We approach the overall population to dismiss the cases of oneself acclaimed ‘local area individual’ which are clearly borne out of sheer naughtiness and unmitigated presentation of obliviousness,” Soneye said.
