Extra Manchester Police introduced a forty eight-hour rooftop standoff in Salford, England to an give up after the suspect fell asleep on top of a small rooftop shape, allowing officers to climb up and produce him down at the same time as he used to be unconscious.

The 37-year-old suspect used to be desired on recall to prison.

extra Manchester Police (GMP) were trying to arrest the person at the request of another force while the incident started out at a belongings on Reservoir street on Thursday, 13 August 2026. The standoff brought about disruption to the local people and harm to nearby houses.

ultimately, he slept off on Saturday, August 15, and was arrested when Tactical resource Unit officers climbed a ladder and pulled him from the roof while he used to be asleep.

A struggle broke out as he was pulled down the ladder. His trousers appeared to fall down during the struggle before he was formally arrested in the garden. 

Two officers were also injured before the operation reached what police described as a “safe conclusion”. 


The stand-off tied up significant policing resources for two days.
