A politician based in Abuja, Austin Okai, has sparked a debate on line after announcing that Abuja residents earning much less than N300,000 month-to-month are not any exceptional from Almajiris.

according to him, the only thing differentiating the revenue earners and the Aljmajiris is a plate which the latter use to “beg” for cash.

Okai made the remark in a facebook post, in which he argued that the declining fee of the naira had eroded the shopping strength of people and made it increasingly more tough for many Nigerians to meet their primary desires with their salaries.

according to him, employees earning underneath N300,000 in Abuja struggle to hold a respectable popular of dwelling by virtue of the high fee of accommodation, food and transportation in the Federal Capital Territory.

“if your revenue isn’t up to as a minimum 300k in Abuja, the distinction among you and Almajiri is simply the plate. enterprise better alternative now. Our currency is destroyed.”
