Former Borno country Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Ali Modu Sheriff, has brushed off Peter Obi’s possibilities within the 2027 presidential election, insisting that the former Anambra country governor will now not secure the guide of Northern voters.

speaking in an interview with Channels tv on Monday, July 6, Sheriff said he was once now not worried about Obi’s presidential ambition, despite the former Labour birthday celebration candidate’s robust overall performance within the 2023 election.

Obi, who polled greater than six million votes to complete third inside the 2023 presidential election at the platform of the Labour celebration, is searching for the presidency once more in 2027 beneath the newly registered Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

“The scenario is exclusive now, you know why? Peter Obi when he was a governor chased all of the Northerners out of Anambra kingdom. this is what Kano humans are telling Kwankwaso now, that we continually supported you and we can guide you in case you run for president but we will no longer help you to go along with Peter Obi.”

Sheriff also ruled out the chances of former vp Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, arguing that the North could not guide his bid due to the fact it’s far the South’s turn to supply the President.

“After the civil warfare our leaders have said that there will now not be this case in Nigeria, there may be a local settlement. For Atiku, it’s now not our time now. he is on his very own due to the fact it is the turn for the South. Buhari just completed eight years. If Atiku wants to be president he can wait, he’s a leader in Northern Nigeria, he is eminently certified however it isn’t our time now, he has to wait till 2031. this is the time for the North, for now, it is time for the South”he said
